Adapting to Business Environment: Importance Analysis
Introduction
The business environment is too complex especially with increased globalization and hence have to be understood adequately for the continuous operation of the business. Business environment refers to the surrounding atmosphere on which the business operates and the environment encompass the cultural aspect, political dimension and environmental aspect. The business has to analyse the effect of these dimensions and ways of adapting so as to operate profitably and ensure survival in the long term. Business environment refers to all external forces, which have a bearing on the functioning of business. The business environment factors “are largely if not totally, external and beyond the control of individual industrial enterprises and their managements. The business environment poses threats to a firm or offers immense opportunities for potential market exploitation.
Business has to adapt to its environment to ensure survival. The role of business is crucial and involves that it is an important institution in society, it supplies of goods and services, creation of job opportunities and contribute to the economic growth of the country among others. Hence business survival should be ensured, as its success transforms to better economy and standards of living of workers and the society around. The environment includes technological environment, international environment, economic, political, natural environment and social or cultural environment.
There is symbolic relationship between business and its environment and among the environmental factors. Generally, business is influenced by its environment to certain degree and it will influence the external forces. These environmental forces are dynamic. They keep on changing as years roll by, so does business. A particular business firm, by itself, may not be in a position to change its environment, but along with other firms, business will be in a position to mould the environment in its favor.
A New Definition of Apostasy and Heretics: Sociological Analysis
Hasan A. Yahya, Ph.Ds
Linguistically, apostasy means: a defection or revolt, from former religion. It is a term generally employed to describe the formal abandonment or renunciation of one’s religion, especially if the motive is deemed unworthy. In a technical sense, as used sometimes by sociologists without the pejorative connotations of the word, the term refers to renunciation and criticism of, or opposition to one’s former religion. One who commits apostasy is an apostate, or one who apostatizes. Apostasy is generally not a self-definition: very few former believers call themselves apostates and they generally consider this term to be a pejorative. One of the possible reasons for this renunciation is loss of faith, another is the failure of alleged religious indoctrination or brainwashing.
The difference between apostasy and heresy is that the latter refers to rejection or corruption of certain doctrines, not to the complete abandonment of one’s religion. Heretics claim to still be following a religion (or to be the “true followers”), whereas apostates reject it. Arab countries I believe, are mostly and conveniently be described as heretics. While they do not reject Islam as a religion, but their daily practices negate principles of Islam. Many religious movements consider it a vice or sin, a corruption of the virtue of piety in the sense that when piety fails, apostasy is the result.
Islam And Democracy: Sociological Analysis
Islam and Democracy: Sociological analysis
By H. A. Yahya, Professor of Sociology
Opinions about Islam and democracy vary among Muslim thinkers and theologians. Those who are proponent of Islamic State or Islamic System tend to argue that Democracy is a concept imposed by the West. And that democracy in this respect should not be applied particularly for Muslim community. Justifying their opinion, because they claim that democracy negates Islamic value, where Islam considers all people are equal regardless of color, or nationality, [but not of sex or gender, because man and woman are not equal in Islam for certain reasons debated widely between believers in Islam- intellectuals and theocratic personnel].
Other groups, however, reject Democracy as exemplified, and should be resisted by Muslim communities, particularly represented by fundamentalist, such view is obviously considered as a result of Western colonization. For them, Democracy for both groups is the means to split Islamic community (the Ummah) rather than unite Islamic community in two ways by which the western colonialism intend to hamper Muslim community from unifying. 1) Muslim community is coerced to accept an understanding, belief, and parameter (Democracy) that is bequeathed by colonizers to be put into practice in Muslim countries even if it is clear not corresponding to Islamic belief. 2) The West synchronizes democracy with Islam so as to produce Muslim’s view that there is no such distinction between Islam and democracy. One of their strategies is to reject Democracy as exposed by the West .
