Learning a new language is never easy. It does not matter how good a program you are using. Learning the language is going to take a great deal of time and dedication. If you learn Russian, doors will open to you that would have never opened to you before.

Knowing how to speak and read Russian will benefit your life in ways that you never imagined. This is especially true if you are involved in international business. Being able to speak Russian can actually increase the odds of you getting hired.

If you are serious about learning how to speak Russian you should check with your local community college and find out if they are offering a course in Russian. The advantage of learning the language this way is that you will also learn a bit about the Russian culture at the same time.

You will have an instructor who will teach about the correct use of grammar and the various parts of speech. Your grade in the class will help you determine how well you have learned the language.

Hiring the services of a private Russian tutor is an excellent way to learn everything there is to know about the Russian language. Private tutors not only know the language but they also very accomplished in it. The private tutor will be able to adjust their teaching style to suit your personal learning style. The biggest problem with the private tutor is usually the cost.

Some people find that they have the best results when they hire a private tutor to teach them Russian. The great thing about this is that the tutor is usually extremely adept at speaking Russian. The other perk is that they can create a program that best suits your personal learning style. The downside is cost as private language tutors can be very expensive, especially when compared to the cost of the language tapes. If you do choose a private tutor you will want to choose one that has a Russian accent and who is also very patient.

Your attitude plays a huge role in your ability to gain fluency in the Russian language. You need to approach the project with a “can do” attitude. The other thing that you have to remember is that it takes a great deal of time to really learn a language like Russian. Do not get discouraged when you aren’t fluid after just a few weeks of instruction.

If you are sick and tired of buying courses and programs that don’t really work for eveyone, then continue reading.

My name is Wally and I currently speak 4 languages fluently and working on my fifth. All throughout my adult life, friends have told me that I have a gift for language learning. So I felt that this later be my trade in life and my job would be to help others to see how to do the same thing.

But I must that things were always the case. Although my parents spoke other languages being from the Carribean,we as kids were never forced to learn them, rather English. However, something that really motivated me to learn a language besides English were the large growing diversities of people that lived in my area, and also secondly for better employment opportunities. However, how could I meet the challenge? How could I learn to speak and master other languages being I did not grow up using them?

How Rocket Languages Helped

I came across a friend of mine that also expressed the desire to learn a language. I told him that I too wanted to learn another language as well.

He mentioned that he used a program called Rocket Languages to learn Spanish. I was bit skeptical at first. I later did some searhing online and realized that there were tons of people that also learned not only to speak Spanish fluently, but also other languages as well using Rocket Languages.

Click Here To Take The First Step to Learn A Language

My friend mentioned to me that I could order the course online and try it out for 6 days FREE. During that time I could test it out for my self and even if I ordered, I could receive a 60 money back guarantee if disatisfied.

I figured that I should atleast give it a try being I had absolutely nothing at all to lose.

Great Results My First Day

In as liitle a few days, I realized that he was telling the truth. I learned so much new vocabulary and felt already close to fluency.

If you are searching for a real language learning program that works, your search just ended. Click to read some more testimonials on how to learn the Spanish language easily using Rocket Languages.

Did you know that the average student learning a foreign language spends more time dwelling on the correct gramatical rules than on actually just seaking the language? This may just be the undoing of his or her language skills.

The problem with this: it is not only about the most ineffective way of language training, some of these elements such as translations and grammar drill are outright harmful.

Before we get into the details, please consider this: how did you learn to walk? All by yourself I believe and further you might agree that nowhere in the world there is a pediatrician or pedagogue who would advocate special walking instructions and drills for babies and toddlers (unless they were disabled). Likewise we all know that children learn their native language automatically just by listening and gradually communicating with people who are more advanced than they. By the age of six a normally developped child knows about 100,000 words in their native language if you count all word forms, e.g. go -> went, brother -> brethren, may -> might etc. Even a professor who later teaches that language as his best foreign language will hardly ever surpass such a six year old which you can easily check by asking him or her for e.g. a list of thirty types of tree or thirty species of birds, or if he knows the games and toys such child usually plays with in his native language and is accustomed to name.

So we may safely say that nature’s normal way of acquiring a language is the best, simply the most effective way and that all other methods lag miles behind. While there are a many fun ways to learn a language, they’re still not as effective as the simple way babies acquire their first. But there are certain widely employed methods that are outrright harmful and one of them is grammar training.

Did you ever reflect on grammar when acquiring or using your native language until the age of six? Not really, most people whose parents are accomplished speakers just pick up their parents style and vocabulary. The most important thing though is that we have certain areas in our brains that are trained to distill rules from repeating patterns, such as past tense or the plural “s” as in manner -> manners, fan -> fans, can – cans etc. This process is automatical and the correct “grammatical” rule becomes woven into the language usage pattern and then works without thinking.

But if you force anyone, esp. children, to reflect upon those rules, worse even to learn them up front, you will destroy that rule building process with the end result that your child may never learn that second language fluently but may always behave like a self-conscious and slow speaker who tries to first access his/her grammatical “rule book” that is by now saved in a completely different part of their brain.

This is known since decades, however, modern school currikcula and teacher training does not reflect that knowledge. Rather children are given assignments in their native language and challenged to translate into the target foreign language, whereby they are asked to apply those cherished rules. This is part of a series of articles where we will also cover the harm that’s done by forcing children to translate early between languages. Let’s just quote a few sources on grammar drill and its effects:

“Why Doesn’t Grammar Correction Work? The first reason why writing class grammar feedback doesn’t work is that it treats only the surface appearance of grammar and not with the way language develops … Secondly, learning grammar in a second language is a complex and gradual process which occurs both developmentally and hierarchically (some items are acquired before others). Compounding this is the fact that the learning of linguistic items does not occur in a linear fashion, that the learning curve for an item is full of valleys and peaks, progress and regressions.”

(Grammar Correction in ESL/EFL Writing Classes May Not Be Effective, Ronald Gray, Beijing Language and Culture University (Beijing, China))

The author then continues: “So what should a L2 writing teacher do? The quickest and most effective solution would be for writing instructors to simply stop making grammar corrections.” And take note: “In short, teachers need to train themselves to set aside their red pens and examine ideas and see what students are trying to say instead of simply looking for grammatical errors.”

“When you are just learning to speak a new language, learning grammar rules is not only senseless, but harmful as far as developing your ability to fluently express yourself. … In most cases, our speech is formed by communication, the quantity and quality of studied literature, education, or simply our surrounding environment. During systematic simultaneous repetition, one develops an inner sense of the language, and the ability to imitate correct pronunciation of words and phrases.” (Language Bridge Method)

“Teachers and students who take correction seriously face overwhelming problems, both in making the corrections effective and in dealing with the harmful side effects of the practice. Research evidence points to the conclusion that oral correction does not improve learners’ ability to speak grammatically. No good reasons have been advanced for maintaining the practice. For these reasons, language teachers should seriously consider the option of abandoning oral grammar correction altogether.” (John Truscott: “What’s Wrong with Oral Grammar Correction”, http://www.hss.nthu.edu.tw/~fl/faculty/John/What’s Wrong with Oral Grammar Correction 1999.htm summed up here also: The Case Against Grammar Correction in L2 Writing Classes, Language Learning 46:2, June 1996, pp. 327-369

French is a business language: Today, MNCs have over 2,000 subsidiaries in France, and French companies have over 600 subsidiaries in the United States. Major corporations with headquarters or subsidiaries in the United States and France include Du Pont, Hewlett-Packard, Xerox, Apple Computer, Michelin, Renault, Bic and many more. The French economy is one of the strongest in the world and is increasingly a leader in technological innovation. Why learn French? It’s because it is the language of the future.

Scholarships and Preference in worldwide Universities: Most graduate schools require knowledge of at least one foreign language, and French remains the most commonly used language after English. Proficiency in French will significantly improve your chances of being accepted to the university and to graduate school. High school students should consider studying at least four years of a foreign language. College students should seek to earn a minor in French or have French as a primary or secondary major. By joining French classes in Mumbai, you can increase your preference. Many researchers and human sciences workers have their works in French. Even before they are translated into English for the rest of the world they are known to French speakers. One has immense scope in science research work. In mumbai, French courses are taught in many prestigious schools.

Improve your skills: Learning French develops your critical and creative thinking skills, because progress is very easy to measure, you can quickly take pride in your new abilities. It helps to improve your interpersonal skills as well. At our French language classes in Mumbai, it is ensured that you learn and improve your ability to adopt new language. Our French language institute in Mumbai focuses on improving these skills.

Language enhancement: Learning French can help you to understand your own. French has contributed to the development of English, so learning French will teach you where words and even grammatical structures are from, and augment your vocabulary to boot. Also, in learning how another language differs from your own, you will increase your understanding of your own language. For many people, language is innate – we know how to say something, but we don’t necessarily know why we say it that way. Learning French can change that. French speaking classes in Mumbai will surely enhance your fluency of speaking.

French language skills are Social Bonus! Knowing French is definitely a social bonus. There’s definitely a steep hill to climb between being presented as someone that doesn’t know any foreign language whatsoever against being presented as a polyglot. Another case when knowing a foreign language can be literally a social blessing is when meeting a foreigner whose language you can speak. They’ll be extremely impressed by your ability to talk with them through their own native tongue, although you’re on home grounds and this fact can single handedly create an impression around you.

Comprehending a new foreign language might be time consuming. Academical language courses add a great base, but some students are too busy today to attend physical classes. Fortunately, the Internet has alternatives that are convenient and allow you to train for any kind of idiom at your own time and pace.

Free Foreign Language Resources on the Internet

Free language courses can be ascertained on many websites that provide foreign language resources. Their quality might vary from awfully dismal to superbly distinct. Do an Internet search and select which websites will help you the most.

Online Educational Games

Online educational games are fun alternatives, and many breed of games operate online. Their central advantage: learning about a foreign language becomes more entertaining and comfortable. The downside is that this approach utilizes more time than approaching other processes, but the retention that’ll grow through playing games will dwell in your mind longer.

Media and Foreign Websites

The Internet is home to different media platforms, which is beneficial when educating yourself about a new language. For example, streaming or downloading audio and video files in the language you’re training for might prove magnificently beneficial in building your vocabulary and pronunciation talents. Reading websites written in the foreign language you’re training for is also an excellent path of getting accustomed to vocabulary, spelling, and grammar basics. However, you must already possess a basic foundation of the desired language, otherwise you will fail to grasp the content you’re reading.

Video Conference Lessons

This is a new highlight to the language learning world. Training with a distant tutor is a new inclination. Although video training may be expensive, you get the same advantages that a regional language training would offer. But you’ll have the convenience of learning from your home office instead.

There are different language learning methods online. You must choose the ones that are cost effective and suit you best. Start your search today and have fun training for a new foreign language.

American students, of various backgrounds, speak clearly, passionately, and with refreshing wisdom about foreign language education and how it benefits them. School administrators, local, state and federal policy-makers and leaders ought to take note! Being able to speak two or more languages is an essential 21st century skill we ought to make sure EVERY child has the opportunity to develop. This will make for a more competitive, secure, culturally and linguistically competent America.

People often ask me, “How can I teach my 3 year old French or Spanish?”

I always say, “First let me tell you how Angelina Jolie is teaching her children French.”

The first thing you should know is that she isn’t spending a penny more for her children to learn French than other Hollywood moms are spending whose children aren’t learning French.

So what’s she doing?

She hires French nannies to do most of the care for her children. It’s that simple.

The French nannies care for her children in French and her children automatically learn French.

French nannies work just as cheaply as American nannies, so it doesn’t cost her a penny more.

Don’t worry about her children not learning English, they live in Hollywood, California, USA. They’ll learn English just fine. If You Can Afford To — Follow Her Example

Angelina’s method for teaching small children a language is an excellent one. If you can afford it, it will work every time. Just make sure that your nanny talks to your children in the language you want them to learn.

It’s just as cheap to hire a French nanny as is it to hire an American one, so if you are going to pay for this type of premium childcare, you might as well have your children get a great language education at the same time.

How to Follow Angelina’s Example Without Spending as Much Money

If you don’t plan on spending the money to hire nannies, you can get almost as much benefit for your children by putting them in foreign language day care.

Even the most dedicated mom needs time away from her children. If you consistently use your child care time as foreign language learning time, your children will automatically learn an additional language.

This won’t cost you a penny more than you would pay for child care in English, you’ll just have to spend a little bit more time to find the right people.

The key thing here is consistency. Don’t put your child in Spanish language day care one month and French day care the next month. Pick one language and be consistent. One Day a Week is Probably Worthless

There is a certain minimum amount of time for your child to spend with foreign language care givers in order for this to work. One day per week is not enough time.

For example, it’s obvious that if a French speaking nanny spends 20 minutes per week with your daughter it’s not enough to have your daughter learn French.

Three days per week, for at least four hours per day is probably the minimum amount of time necessary for this to work.

One or two days per week definitely won’t work.

Don’t Spread Your Child Too Thin

Some ambitious parents want their children to learn several languages. This might be okay if you did it just perfectly, but I’ve often seen this fail.

For example, my brother speaks pretty good Spanish and his wife is a native speaker of Czech, so they decided to teach their children both Spanish and Czech.

But since they didn’t remember to get the minimum required time in either of these languages the result is that his children can only speak a few words of Spanish and Czech.

It’s better to succede with one language than to fail with two.

Turn Family Vacations into Fun Language Learning

Do you think that Angelina Jolie takes her children with her when she vacations in France? You bet she does . . . you can read about it in the tabloids.

If you can take your children on vacations to France too . . . that’s great. However you can have just as much fun in the French speaking province of Quebec, Canada without the expensive flights to Paris.

For most North Americans, a drive to Quebec is a lot easier, faster, and cheaper than a flight to France.

For example, if you leave New York City by car in the morning, you can easily have dinner in Quebec that same evening.

Driving to Quebec from New York City is faster than flying to Paris and you’ll still be in the eastern time zone so you won’t have any jet lag either!

If you do decide to vacation in Quebec, both you and your children will have a lot more fun if you can speak French too. So take time to learn Canadian French before you go.
Learn Along With Your Children

I’m not sure how well Angelina Jolie speaks French, but my guess is that she’s probably at least conversational in French.

If she wasn’t, I would encourage her to study French at the same time that her children are learning it.

The more encouragement your children get for their language learning from the people who love them, the better this works.

Use the Angelina Jolie Method to Teach Your Children a Language

If you want your small child to learn French or Spanish, you should consider following Angelina’s excellent example.

If you can’t exactly follow her example, then follow the spirit of her example and start looking for French or Spanish day care opportunities for your child.

My guess is that Angelina is going to raise the most well balanced, well adjusted children ever to be raised by a Hollywood star.

And that’s saying something.

Somehow I think that if you follow her good example, your children will become well balanced, well adjusted stars at whatever they do too.
